To meet the unique needs and requirements of online students, UoA Online offers a range of services designed specifically for its students. The UoA Online Student Advice team forms an essential part of this service provision, whereby a team of UoA Online Student Advisers act as the primary point of contact for all UoA Online students across their full student lifecycle, with the ultimate purpose of maximising enrolment, retention, and foster overall student success.
We are seeking 2 UoA Online Student Advisers to join our UoA Online Student Advice team to ensure the success and retention of UoA Online students.
In this role, you will be a primary point of contact for UoA Online cohorts, offering the necessary advisement and support across the full student lifecycle – from matriculation to graduation. Our goal is to maximise enrolment, retention, and student success, while also elevating the student experience.
Our ideal candidate will have the ability to collaborate with academic stakeholders and have an understanding of academic drivers. You will be capable of working in a high-demand and highly regulated environment, providing a high level of customer service throughout.
You will also have:
- A tertiary qualification, or equivalent work experience.
- Experience working within a tertiary environment and working in a complex service-based organisation.
- The ability to influence at a senior level.
- Experience in continuous improvement and facilitating innovation.
- Demonstrated skills in analysing data from various sources and creating a cohesive story to support decision-making at a senior faculty level.
Your main responsibilities will include:
- Providing individualised advice and support for all UoA Online students throughout their entire academic journey, aiming to maximise cohort enrolment, retention and overall student success.
- Monitoring programme and course data and leveraging your knowledge of programme requirements to offer clear and consistent advice to all UoA Online students.
- Making informed decisions on non-standard and complex student requests within your delegated authority.
- Interpreting the needs of programme and specific cohort groups, offering advice, individualised assistance, and appropriate referrals to other service areas to support UoA Online students on their journey.
- Actively seeking opportunities to improve the services provided for UoA Online students.
This is a full-time (37.5 hours per week), permanent position.
The remuneration is $62,400 – $77,800 per annum, dependent on skills and experience.
