Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity
We have an opportunity for a Senior Business Analyst to lead expert analysis and consultation activities across key business process optimization initiatives. This role is all about driving meaningful change, through process improvement, identifying automation opportunities and supporting the enhancement and innovation of service delivery across the organisation.
A significant part of the role involves discovery and analysis, including reviewing and mapping current-state processes, to identify inefficiencies, risks and opportunities for improvement. Your ability to document, analyse and communicate process insights will be key to shaping future improvements.
This is a highly collaborative role and will see you transcend the office walls, meeting and engaging with stakeholders across the University, from internal customers to external vendors. You’ll help bring clarity to business needs from both a process and systems perspective, facilitating workshops and helping teams explore changes, defining requirements that lead to real and lasting change.

The main responsibilities for this role include:
- Lead the identification and clear definition of business requirements for assigned initiatives.
- Effectively and efficiently elicit and validate requirements using a range of techniques including interviews, workshops and refinement sessions.
- Consult and challenge Business Process Design and recommend changes and improvements with a view to creating tangible benefits to the business.
- Conducting data analysis and interpretating reports and datasets to deliver actionable insights and recommendations that enhance business value and support business goals
As a senior member of the team, you will also provide leadership and support by mentoring junior staff members and contributing to project delivery.
This is a fulltime (37.5 hours per week) permanent position, with a salary range of $130,000 – $138,000 per annum depending on skills experience.

Important Skills | Nga Pūkenga Motuhake
- Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent knowledge gained through extensive experience. For example, BCom or BBS.
- Knowledge of formal Business Analysis tools and techniques.
- Extensive experience in business process management and improvement
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to build relationships with Senior Management.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Knowledge of Business Process Automation tools and techniques
- Extensive experience in Change control management and processes
