Te Whiwhinga Mahi | The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced and strategic Recruitment Manager to lead an established recruitment function within our in-house team. This is a full-time, permanent role, offering the chance to shape future-focused recruitment services and to make a significant impact by fostering excellence, engagement, and leadership.
Reporting to the Associate Director, Talent and Recruitment, you’ll oversee teams responsible for delivering high-quality, consultative recruitment services across both academic and professional portfolios. This is a people-focused leadership role with a strong emphasis on coaching, mentoring, and developing team capability. You will inspire and guide your team to deliver recruitment excellence, ensure stakeholder alignment and engagement, and drive continuous improvement across all facets of recruitment operations.
You will also be instrumental in supporting initiatives that include the rollout of our Employee Value Proposition (EVP), advancing internal mobility and career development pathways, and championing diversity and employer branding strategies across the University. Your ability to foster relationships, influence senior stakeholders, and lead through change will be key to your success.

You will be a people-centred recruitment leader who brings commercial insight, strategic capability, and a proactive, collaborative approach. You will have:
- Proven leadership skills with experience in managing, mentoring and developing a high-performing team
- Demonstrated success managing end-to-end recruitment across multiple functions and seniority levels
- Strong relationship management and influencing skills, including the ability to work with senior leaders and multiple stakeholder groups
- Deep understanding of sourcing strategies, internal mobility, career pathways, redeployment, and employer branding
- Proven experience leading or significantly contributing to high-profile recruitment projects in large, complex environments
- Experience delivering diversity initiatives and aligning recruitment strategies with organisational goals.
