Housed in the state of the art architecturally designed Sir Owen G Glenn Building, our top-ranked, triple-crown accredited University of Auckland Business School is seeking to recruit established and early career academics to join its world class faculty. The Department of Management and International Business

The Department of Management and International Business (MIB) is one of seven departments within the UABS. The department comprises five disciplinary areas: Organisation Studies, Human Resource Management and Organisational Behaviour, International Business, Entrepreneurship, and Innovation and Strategy. The disciplines are taught across the programmes in the UABS, including undergraduate, postgraduate taught and research programmes, and PhD. The department also contributes to the Master of Business Administration, and the Master of Business Management in the Graduate School of Management. Members of the department are highly qualified and experienced academics who have made important contributions to the above disciplines. Several institutes and research centres involve members of this department, including the Aotearoa Centre for Leadership and Governance, the Centre for Research on Modern Slavery, the Centre for Enterprising Women, and the Dame Mira Szazy Research Centre.

Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity

The Department of Management and International Business is seeking to appoint a full-time Professional Teaching Fellow. 

We are particularly seeking candidates with experience in International Business, Strategy and Foundational/Core course teaching. You will have a background in flipped classroom, team based learning (TBL) and/or online teaching methods and course design.

This is a full-time (40 hours per week), permanent position.
The remuneration for this role is $100,696 – $132,495, depending on the level of appointment.

He kōrero mōu | About you

Our ideal candidate will be a team player who supports the Department of Management and International Business and is able to teach across a range of Management topics in the BCom and taught Masters programmes. We are particularly interested in strengthening our teaching and research in the areas of International Business, Innovation, and Strategy.

You will have strong communication skills and the ability to clearly articulate your ideas and plans. Suitably qualified with a Master’s or PhD in International Business, Strategy, or a closely related discipline, our ideal candidate will also demonstrate the following skills and experience:

• A commitment to ensuring undergraduate students have a high-quality learning and teaching experience, supported and enhanced by relevant learning technologies.
• A passion for fostering innovative and creative teaching in an increasingly multidisciplinary environment.
• The ability to provide leadership in curriculum development and delivery, including the assessment and evaluation of learning outcomes, alongside relevant administrative responsibilities required to achieve these goals.
