Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity
Are you an organized and proactive professional with a passion for supporting research? The Centre for eResearch (CeR) is looking for a motivated individual to help our multidisciplinary team thrive.
In this role, you’ll play a key part in keeping CeR running smoothly by:
- Managing financial forecasting, transactions, and preparing reports.
- Supporting day-to-day operations, including purchasing and general administration.
- Assisting new staff with onboarding and setup.
- Overseeing asset management and KPI reporting.
- Facilitating project management across multiple research fields.
This is a permanent, full-time 1 FTE (37.5 hours per week) role.
Remuneration range is $96,800 – $119,500 per annum, dependent on skills and experience

CeR is a University-wide platform helping researchers apply cutting-edge computer and information technologies to their work. We foster a collaborative and dynamic environment where our team interacts with researchers across disciplines.
We seek an organised, and enthusiastic individual with good budgetary skills and excellent people skills to support our multidisciplinary eResearch team, that enjoys interacting with researchers and working in a dynamic team environment. You will support our staff and contribute to project management across multiple research fields, cultivating stakeholder relationships as needed.
He kōrero mōu | About you
To be considered for this role you will have a bachelor’s degree or tertiary qualification, preferably related to business administration or project management.
- 3+ years’ experience with project management coupled with financial and budget management skills.
- 3+ years’ experience working in large and complex organisations, preferably in a university environment interfacing with various administrative areas. (Exposure to a research or IT oriented community would be a bonus.)
- Robust organisational and relationship building skills. Good analytical and advanced Excel skills.
- Effective communicator, both in person and in writing, including the ability to prepare professional documents for various audiences.
- Proven outstanding organisational skills, with the ability to plan and prioritise multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and maintain excellent attention to detail/accuracy.
