Our Finance team empowers the University’s mission by delivering timely, accurate, and strategic financial insights. We support sustainable decision-making, ensure compliance with university and government policies, and help achieve the goals set by the University Council and external stakeholders.

We’re looking for a proactive and strategic Associate Finance Business Partner to join our high-performing Finance team on a full-time or fixed-term basis.

In this role, you’ll be a trusted advisor to the Faculty of  Science, partnering with Heads of School, Department Heads, and Business Managers to deliver insightful financial guidance and support. You’ll play a key role in shaping financial strategy, enabling informed decision-making, and driving performance across our faculty.

You’ll also collaborate closely with the wider One Finance team, contributing to budgeting, forecasting, business case development, and continuous improvement initiatives

This is a full-time (37.5 hrs pw), 12-month fixed-term role

The salary range is $85,000 – $105,000, dependant on skills and experience.

To be successful in this role you will be:

  • Tertiary qualified in accounting, finance, or related field (professional qualifications are a plus)
  • Experienced in management accounting or business partnering—ideally in a large, complex organisation.
  • Skilled in building strong relationships and managing diverse stakeholder expectations.
  • Confident working with large ERP systems (PeopleSoft, Workday Adaptive Planning preferred).
  • Passionate about continuous improvement and driving best practice.
